About the Ride

Ride Camp

Volunteers and Vets

Volunteers and Vets

Camp  Boggy Creek is a children's camp with a large barn, and we are  responsible for leaving the grounds in excellent condition for the next  group of campers.   No arrivals before 10:00 AM on Friday.

Only horses that are registered for the ride may be brought on premises; do not bring extra horses.

1 paddock, 10 stalls, and 3 pasture shelters available.  Note that pasture shelters are located in the far pasture and must be encircled with electric fencing.  Primitive camping is also available.

Dogs are okay but must be on a leash at all times, and you must pick up after your pet.  No dogs in the covered arena or barn.

There are no electrical hookups available.

Our wonderful volunteers and fantastic vets help ensure an organized vet check process.  When interacting with timers, volunteers, or vets, you must be off your horse and in control of your horse.

Please say an extra "thank you" to the volunteers and vets!

If you'd like to volunteer, please reach out to the Ride Manager.

Amenities: Bunkhouses, Bathrooms, and Showers

Amenities: Bunkhouses, Bathrooms, and Showers

Great news: we will be able to stay in the bunkhouses!  There will be two bunkhouses designated for women and one for men; no "visiting" or crossing over!  No alcohol in the bunkhouses.

The bunkhouses are located several hundred yards away, and you must walk back and forth to the barn and main ride camp area.  Bring a flashlight because it is a dark walk.  If you stay in the bunkhouse, your horse must be in a stall or under the supervision of someone that is primitive camping.

Anyone staying in the bunkhouses must bring your own linens, blanket, and pillow.  All attendees will have access to the bunkhouse showers.  You must bring your own towels.

In addition, two bathrooms are located in the barn.

Let's get together for dinner on Friday evening!  Ride management will provide the meat, and attendees should bring a covered dish to share.

In addition, coffee and pastries will be available on Saturday morning starting at 6:00 AM.  Grilled cheese sandwiches will be provided near the vetting area from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

There is lots of space for everyone to comfortably enjoy meals and the ride meeting in the covered arena.  The infamous raffle will take place just after dinner on Friday evening.

Trail Update: Trails are looking great! Some sand; overall good footing. Some new trails this year.

Trails

The Trail-Marking Daisies

The Trail-Marking Daisies

Camp Boggy Creek is adjacent to Seminole State Forest, and riders will enjoy  the lovely forest trails.  We'll also cross over into the Wekiva  trails.   The ride largely consists of gentle one- and two-track trails through the beautiful forest.  Some short stretches of sand.  You will go along gravel roads in a few areas, and there is generally a grassy space on the sides sufficient for barefooters.

Once again, Jackie and Stephen Baker and family and friends will do an awesome job marking the trails.

Be sure to thank the Baker's and friends for the fabulously marked trails!
